Military Appreciation
The Anchorage Chamber’s Military Committee plays a leadership role in strengthening the relationships between the local military and business communities by hosting the largest military appreciation event in the state. Military Appreciation Week, funded in-part by the annual Bowl-a-Thon fundraiser, provides the local business community an opportunity to thank and show their support for service members in the Anchorage area.

Each year the Anchorage Chamber coordinates the efforts of 150 volunteers to serve 5,000 local service members and their families.
2026 Military Appreciation Bowl-A-Thon Fundraiser
February 2027 | Polar Bowl, JBER
The annual Bowl-A-Thon is the primary fundraiser and financial support for the Chamber’s annual Military Appreciation Week. This fun event takes place the first Saturday in February. Chamber members purchase lanes or spaces for the event, and decide on the preferred level of engagement:
- Donate all the spaces to active duty members of the military;
- Keep all the spaces and allow employees to bowl; or
- Donate some spaces and keep some spaces.
Sponsors will have numerous opportunities to mingle with military personnel, all while showing support for members of the military and helping connect them with Anchorage businesses. This is an excellent opportunity for employee bonding, team-building and networking.
