Annual Events

Each year at the Summit, more than 200 young professionals attend a series of immersive in-person and online sessions and panels presented by successful and experienced business, government, and community leaders. Attendees are fueled by a phenomenal keynote speaker, insightful discussions and have the opportunity to connect with local experts. Content is geared toward all levels of employees and executives, and we welcome professionals from all industries. The Summit provides young professionals with the chance to elevate and step up their game in the professional world.

Spirit of Tomorrow Awards

The Spirit of Tomorrow Awards were initiated in 1996 to recognize outstanding school-business partnerships within the Anchorage School District. At that time, there were 190 partnerships. Today, there are more than 400 thriving partnerships, with new ones under development daily.

Award nominations are taken each year from ASD principals, Anchorage School Business Partnerships (SBP) coordinators, teachers, and community members. The selection committee is made up of SBP Board members.

The Anchorage Chamber's Super Sweeper program helps teach school-aged kids the value of a clean city and community service. The event is Anchorage School District’s way of getting involved in Citywide Cleanup. Nearly 80 schools participate in order to teach students stewardship and the value of keeping our city clean.

Since 1958, the Anchorage Chamber has helped preserve the cleanliness and beauty of its city through the Citywide Cleanup. Thousands of volunteers come together to collect millions of pounds of trash and dispose of it at local landfill stations.

Citywide Cleanup brings together nearly 400 local businesses, organizations, schools, and citizens of the Municipality of Anchorage. Many businesses allow employees time to collect trash around their business, and some end the event with a company get-together making for a great team-building and corporate responsibility event.

Anchorage Chamber’s Military Appreciation Week concludes with a picnic held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on JBER-Richardson. The Anchorage Chamber works closely with other organizations to provide a variety of family fun activities during the afternoon of the picnic, such as competitive sporting events and corn hole for the adults and bouncy houses for the kids. This event is three hours of food, music, and fun for the entire family. Each year the Anchorage Chamber solicits nearly 150 volunteers from its membership to serve over 5,000 local service members and their families.

The Anchorage Chamber Gold Pan Awards is one of the organization's longest-running civic programs. It was established in 1957 as Anchorage's number 1 premier business awards event. For over 60 years, Gold Pan Awards have been awarded to those who have shown business and entrepreneurial excellence, as well as a loyal commitment to Anchorage through community service.

JBER Polar Bowl

This event is the fundraiser and financial backbone of the Military Appreciation Picnic. Local businesses and organizations have three options:

• Donate all the spaces to active-duty members of the military
• Keep all the spaces and allow employees to bowl
• Donate some spaces and keep some spaces

You will have numerous opportunities to mingle with military personnel and help the military and Anchorage business communities connect. This is an excellent opportunity for employee bonding, team building, and networking.
