Board of Directors

For over 110 years, the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce has been able to advance a successful business climate because of its hard-working staff and dedicated Board of Directors.

The board represents both large and small businesses with diverse backgrounds and vocations and makes decisions about issues with the needs of the entire membership in mind. The board is composed entirely of volunteers who support the business community, attend monthly board meetings, and Anchorage Chamber events.

Former members of the board of directors include Mayors George Wuerch and Zach Loussac; Augie Hiebert, who was instrumental in bringing telecommunications to Alaska; and Robert Atwood, who was a pioneer in the Anchorage newspaper industry.

2025 BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION TIMELINE

June 17 - Notice to members / Open application
July 1 - Nominating committee meets and nominates one person per open seat
July 8 - Deadline for application and petition
July 15 - Launch ballot
July 29 - Deadline to complete ballot
August 5 - Results announced

The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has four seats up for election. These seats are three-year terms beginning September 5, 2025.

The board will induct newly elected members at its first fiscal board meeting on Friday, September 5, 2025. Anchorage Chamber members in good standing may file a petition to be placed on the election ballot by July 8, 2024.

To apply:

Application coming June 17th.
Obtain at least 20 separate Anchorage Chamber member signatures (all in good standing) on the petition form. Please limit one representative per business member to sign. Petition coming June 17th.
