For
36 years, the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce has been
organizing the Citywide Cleanup. This week-long, annual
program unites local businesses, organizations, schools,
the city and Alaska
residents in an effort to rid our city of trash and
debris following spring breakup.
In
2003, Alaskans picked up more than 7 million pounds
of trash. They also had a lot of fun and made Anchorage
a cleaner,
safer place for summer visitors and those who call Anchorage
home.
