Camp
$tart-Up
The
Anchorage ATHENA Society award scholarships (covering travel,
accommodations, and camp
tuition fees) each year
for local girls (ages 13-18) to attend the Camp
$tart-Up business camp.
Camp
$tart-Up teaches young women business skills and
entrepreneurial techniques. The camp allows these women
to get to know themselves and their talents and to
become self-sufficient young businesswomen. The camp
activities and workshops assist young women with
researching business ideas, creating a business plan,
marketing, sales, finance, and daily operations.
The year 2004 marks the
sixth time that the Anchorage ATHENA
Society will award a scholarship to a local high school
woman to attend Camp $tart-Up. This year's camp
will be held at Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey
from July 18- 30, 2004.
