Take Action and Get Involved
Use your voice to
demand change for the things you care about. Whether
you send email to your elected representatives, vote
in an election, participate on committees and task
forces, or just spread the word to your co-workers and
employers, you are making a difference. Use the tools
we provide to take action.
As a member of the
Anchorage Chamber, you have a unique opportunity to voice your
ideas, beliefs, and convictions, by joining one of our
committees or task forces. Become an Anchorage Chamber activist!
It doesn't take a lot
to make a meaningful contribution to these issues. A
few hours testifying in front of the Assembly, passing
petitions, making telephone calls, or serving on a
committee, can make a large and important impact. For
just a small investment of your time, you can benefit,
both as a citizen and as a member of the business
community.
State and Local
Government Affairs Committee
This committee tackles statewide issues that affect the Anchorage
business community. The committee supports the Board by reviewing strategic, long-term issues that
affect business. It researches and provides information/recommendations
to the board on issues and policies affecting
Anchorage and local businesses. Identifies and prioritizes issues affecting
transportation needs that bring an economic benefit to
Anchorage and to the rest of Alaska. Works closely
with government officials, AMATS officials, the Alaska
Railroad, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport,
and the Port of Anchorage. Enhancing communication between the business community
and education representatives to promote workforce
development.
