Department: Retail Advertising
Reports to: Advertising Director
A.
Basic
Function:
To
provide support for the Advertising Director by creating
and analyzing reports which enable the Advertising
Director to gain substantive information about the
department and it’s functions.
B.
Description
of duties or responsibilities:
1.
Research, evaluate and assemble data for
reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
2. Assist in
preparation of budgets and forecasts.
3.
Research special projects as requested by the
Director, Managers, and Sales staff
4.
Assists in the management of contracts by
providing the tools necessary to ensure successful
contract management.
5.
Take responsibility for completing assigned tasks
and demonstrates ability to exceed industry and company
standards.
6.
Maintains and promotes safe work habits in
conjunction with company
guidelines.
7.
Demonstrates exceptional internal and external
customer service behaviors in all activities.
8.
Suggests and initiates new methods and procedures for
position, department and company.
C.
Problem
Solving:
1. Ability to find solutions for customers in a
deadline environment
2. Must be willing and able to assist any
department within the newspaper that requires your
services in order to meet the customer or newspaper
needs
3. Communicates any technical problems related to
workstation that may arise, with Information Systems and
Production department personnel.
4. Communicates
situations/issues that impact on workflow procedures,
schedules, or that
may incur overtime.
D.
Knowledge,
Education, Skills, Abilities - Minimums required.
1. Strong analytical skills.
2. Detail oriented.
3. Prior experience using a PC.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel,
Access, MS Query and other software applications,
necessary.
4. Minimum of two years analytical or related
experience doing research and preparing reports.
5. Must be a self-starter and have effective
written and oral communication skills
6. A team player with a cooperative attitude.
7. Ability to follow detailed instructions.
8. Ability to work under pressure/deadline
situations.
9. Ability to communicate in a professional
manner.
