understanding marketing and public relations?
The free Alaska Biz Fair offers seminars and
information for small business owners and aspiring
entrepreneurs.
Training
seminar topics include: how to start a business,
business expansion considerations, an overview of
QuickBooks, assessing the feasibility of your business
idea and public relations for a small business. Neal
Fried, an economist with the Research and Analysis
Section in the State Department of Labor and Workforce
Development, will present the keynote presentation

10-16, 2004
is the National Cover the Uninsured Week. The
Alaska’s Covering Kids Coalition, Alaska Native
Tribal Health Consortium, Southcentral Foundation and
the Alaska Primary Care Association will be holding
health and enrollment fairs, small business and labor
discussions and open-houses designed to raise
awareness and seek solutions for the 109,000 Alaskans
who lack health care coverage.
On
Thursday, May 13, at
11:30
a.m.
there will be a labor union and small-business
round-table discussion in the Anchorage Chamber Board
Room. Participants
are invited to share and discuss their stories as to
how health insurance benefits are provided to
employees and the challenges in finding affordable
health care.
Information about resources available will be
shared and members will have an opportunity to discuss
challenges they face.
